Vocal Recording Tip - Help With Pitch Accuracy
This is a "trick" I learned from a band mate who is also a producer.
Sometimes if you're having to record vocals for a song that you haven't had a lot of time to practice or learn very well, you can use this method to "key into the notes" in the same way that you would when doing vocal exercises along with a piano playing scales.
If you are not the writer of the lyrics, you can have the writer create a guide track, pitch correct it, create a piano guide track with the pitches and tempos matching the vocal melody, drop them into your DAW and then use these guide tracks to make the recording process happen much faster!
That being said, being prepared is always the best plan.
